Terms of Use
Effective October 30, 2026
These terms apply to the Folders app for Mac ("Folders", "the app") and this website. By buying, downloading or using Folders, you agree to them.
Public beta
Folders 0.9 is a public beta. It is for sale and fully usable, but it is not fully polished: it may contain bugs, and features may change between versions. Everything below, including purchases and refunds, applies during the beta.
Your files
Folders works on your real files. Indexing and previews only read. When you rename, move, copy, trash or import, Folders does exactly that to the original file, the same as Finder. If you choose to delete files from a card after importing, Folders removes them only after the copies are checked. Keep backups of anything you cannot replace. We are not responsible for lost or damaged files.
License
A purchase or an active subscription gives you a personal, non-transferable license to use Folders on Macs you own or control. Folders is licensed, not sold. You may not copy, resell, modify or reverse engineer the app except as allowed by law.
Purchases and refunds
- Every download includes a 14-day free trial of the full app. When it ends, Folders asks you to buy or subscribe to keep using it.
- Buy once is a one-time payment for a license that does not expire.
- Monthly renews automatically each month until you cancel. Cancel anytime by emailing support; you keep access until the end of the month you paid for.
- Folders is sold directly on this site, not through the App Store. Payment is processed by Stripe.
- Prices are shown in US dollars before checkout and may change. A price change never applies to a completed purchase, and a change to the monthly price is announced by email before it applies.
- If Folders is not for you, email support@foldersformac.com within 30 days of a payment for a full refund of that payment.
Updates
We may release updates that fix problems or add features. We are not required to provide updates, and we may change or remove features over time.
Apple services
Apple Photos, iCloud Drive and macOS are provided by Apple. Folders relies on them but does not control them, and their own terms apply.
No warranty
Folders is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We work hard to make it reliable, but we do not warrant that it is free of errors.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of Folders, including loss of data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app.
Changes
We may update these terms as Folders evolves. Material changes will carry a new effective date on this page. Using Folders after a change means you accept the updated terms.
